From the time I was a very small girl I have loved babies. All I wanted for every birthday and Christmas was a new baby doll to care for (preferably bald, because that made them feel like newborns to me.) As I grew up I found ways to focus my love of infants and children. I got a B.S. degree in Human Development from BYU, where I studied the development of the human mind and body, and the development of attachments and relationships in babies. I took that education further by interning with United Way. My job was to meet with new parents in the hospital and in their homes with the goal of helping them navigate the rough waters of bringing home a new baby. I loved helping other people understand their baby’s abilities, limitations, and developmental milestones.
After college, I got married and had three beautiful kids of my own (none of which were even close to bald), which changed my world forever. When my kids had all gone off to school, I began using my passion for photography to help other people capture precious times with their babies. As that passion grew, I attended Fotofly Academy here in Utah to become a certified professional photographer. I learned so much and gained valuable experience and confidence behind the camera. I love learning about photography and continue to study it to make sure I can always deliver images I am proud of and that my clients will love. I have studied under the tutelage of some of the best newborn photographers in the world including Ana Brandt and Lindsay Walden.

I cannot explain how excited I am about the new Diane Owen Photography studio! It has beautiful natural light, high end studio lighting, and all the cute props, layers, hats, headbands, crowns, and wraps that you could want! It has been a true joy designing a space that is comfortable and beautiful to create in. I have a family area where you can relax and lots of shooting space for your sessions. I have wall for interchangeable backdrops and a cozy newborn corner for all of my perfect sleepy newborn poses.

I come from a HUGE family. I have over 100 first cousins, and I am the youngest of 8 children, and now I am married and have 3 children of my own and dozens of nieces and nephews, I'm even a great-aunt 6 times over! I love nothing more than being surrounded by my family. In short, when it comes to family - family means everything. It may just be why I love what I do so, so much!

As a kid I went on dozens of road trips with my Dad, and listened to his stories of touring the world while he was in the Air Force. It engrained in me a love for exploring and that has only grown as I've gotten older! My husband and I started traveling in earnest on our 10th wedding anniversary. Since then we have been to 10 countries, 3 Hawaiian Islands, and many places around the good ol' U.S.A. Many of those with our 3 kids in tow. I will never get tired of traveling and exploring new places!
